Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); focusing improved sanitation and water facilities in schools and communities. The interventions under this program were funded by Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA), and Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The following are the projects under the WASH program;

a.Improving WASH Status in Primary Schools in Chikwawa District. This is a three-year project (2018 – 2021) funded by Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA) aimed at improving the learning environment for 8,890 primary school learners in seven primary schools in Chikwawa district through increased access to Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) by 2021.

b.Improving Access to Water and Hygiene in Mtsiriza and Mtandire in Lilongwe. This is a one-year project (2019) aimed at improving the health and welfare of low income inhabitants and school children of Mtsiriza and Mtandire through provision of safe and clean water, sanitation facilities and hygiene promotion. The project is funded by Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
